How your net pay is calculated

  1. The flat work-expense deduction comes off your gross wage: 4%, at most SRD 400 per month.
  2. Your own pension premium is deducted as well. What remains is the net taxable wage (zuiver loon).
  3. The first SRD 9,000 per month is tax-free (the tax-free amount).
  4. The rest is taxed in four brackets: 8%, 18%, 28% and 38%. See the bracket table.
  5. The AOV (state pension) premium is 4% of the net taxable wage and is withheld from your pay.
